I have been waiting for a few years to get
the domain name chrisphelan.com and finally have been able to. Now that I have
it, I need to do something with it so I have decided to make my first foray
into the blog world with The Chris Phelan Chronicle.
One of my motives for starting this blog is
to make myself more searchable on the Internet. Back in the early days of the
Internet, in about 1995 or 1996, there were far fewer people named Chris Phelan
on the Internet. I had a personal homepage and searching for my name usually
got good results from the major search engines. Since then, Google has made
huge strides into the search market and many other Chris Phelans (imposters,
not the real Chris Phelan) have gotten on line. They are polluting my space and
stepping all over the brand equity of my name! Although my name returns more
search results than ever, most are not results for me and my results are
getting pushed farther from the top. So I decided something needs to be done
about it which is one of the reasons I am creating this blog.
Hopefully I will be able to keep people who
stop by entertained as well.
